Hi from Anne and Dave at Meadowbrook Landscapes
When Dave and I started Meadowbrook Landscapes seven years ago, we wanted to focus our knowledge
and skills on supporting environmental landscape concepts. Over the years, we have developed
plans for clients, have installed ponds and garden areas, and have worked alongside clients as
they have physically created their own unique landscapes. The underwhelming response to
ecological concerns wasn't overly worrisome at the time. We felt, that once established, we could
encourage homeowners to incorporate ecological concepts into their landscapes.
But now we are troubled by the lack of concern for our ecosystem. We both reside in the Port
Perry/ Uxbridge area and have witnessed the unprecedented building boom, the increase in traffic
congestion, the controversial construction on the Oak Ridges Moraine, the conflicts between long
time residents and newcomers and in general, the changing of our environment.
Our response is the creation of this website and our hope is to attract attention to the
ecological problems that traditional home landscapes are creating. Dave and I hope that you will
find the website interesting and informative and that we have instilled an interest in eco-
landscapes in you. Although we have now retired as an active company, please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have concerning eco-landscapes.
The world is but ours to borrow during our short time here,
not to conquer or destroy.
